Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of LearnGlish (the "Service"), operated by LearnGlish ("we", "us", "our").

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1) What the Service is

The Service helps users analyze EPUB books (including vocabulary frequency and coverage estimates), track vocabulary states, and practice using spaced repetition and related exercises.

2) Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.

3) Accounts

You are responsible for:

• maintaining the confidentiality of your login,
• all activity under your account,
• providing accurate information.

We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms.

4) User content (books and text)

4.1 Your responsibility for content

You may only upload, import, or use books and content that you have the legal right to use. Do not upload DRM-protected content or content you are not authorized to process.

4.2 License to operate the Service

You grant us a limited license to host, process, and analyze your uploaded content solely to provide the Service to you. We do not claim ownership of your content.

4.3 Storage of excerpts

To provide features like example sentences, we may store short excerpts associated with words. We do not provide full book text for redistribution.

5) Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• violate laws or third-party rights,
• upload malicious files or attempt to compromise the Service,
• scrape the Service or reverse engineer it,
• use the Service to build a competing database at scale,
• abuse free trials or refunds.

6) Subscriptions, billing, and taxes (Paddle)

6.1 Merchant of Record

Payments are processed by Paddle.com as Merchant of Record. Paddle may collect taxes where required and may provide the receipt and billing communications.

6.2 Plan changes and cancellation

You can upgrade/downgrade/cancel as offered in the Service. Access continues until the end of the paid period unless stated otherwise.

6.3 Refunds

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy and applicable law.

7) Service availability and changes

We may update, modify, or discontinue parts of the Service. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation.

8) Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that:

• vocabulary analysis will be error-free,
• learning outcomes will meet your expectations,
• every book will parse perfectly.

9) Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages,
• our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the previous 12 months.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10) Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend/terminate access if you breach these Terms or if required by law.

11) Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Turkey, and disputes will be handled in the courts of Istanbul, unless consumer protection laws require otherwise.
