This Privacy Policy explains how LearnGlish ("we") collects, uses, and shares personal data when you use LearnGlish (the "Service").
1) What we collect
1.1 Account data
- email, account identifiers, login metadata
1.2 Product usage data
- books added to your library (IDs/metadata),
- word states (unknown/learning/known/mastered),
- practice results and scheduling fields,
- feature usage events,
- device/browser information (basic technical logs).
1.3 Uploaded content
- EPUB files (if you upload directly),
- derived analysis artifacts (word frequency lists, coverage curves),
- short excerpts for example sentences (if enabled).
1.4 Payment data
Payments are processed by Paddle (Merchant of Record). We typically receive:
- subscription status,
- plan type,
- Paddle customer/subscription identifiers,
- payment status timestamps.
We do not store full card details.
2) How we use data
We use data to:
- provide and operate the Service (analysis, practice scheduling, dashboards),
- process subscriptions and entitlements,
- prevent fraud and abuse,
- improve reliability and performance,
- communicate service-related messages (billing status, critical notices),
- comply with legal obligations.
3) Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Where applicable, we process data based on:
- contract necessity (to provide the Service),
- legitimate interests (security, analytics, product improvement),
- consent (where required for optional analytics/marketing),
- legal obligations.
4) How we share data
We share data with:
- Paddle for payments, subscriptions, taxes, refunds (Merchant of Record).
- Cloud infrastructure providers used to host and run the Service (compute, database, storage).
- Analytics/monitoring providers (if enabled) to measure product performance and diagnose errors.
We do not sell your personal data.
5) Data retention
- Account and subscription records: retained while your account is active, and as required for legal/tax obligations.
- Uploaded books and derived artifacts: retained until you delete them or your account is deleted (subject to backup retention windows).
- Logs: retained for a limited period for security and debugging.
6) Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and audit logging where appropriate.
7) Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- access, correct, delete your data,
- object to processing,
- data portability,
- withdraw consent (where processing is based on consent).
